Updated November 5, 2026: We have updated the timeline. Thank you for your patience.

What and why

Now users have the full power of Office in Microsoft Copilot app, so users can create, edit and collaborate on Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, without leaving the app.

Rollout schedule

General Availability (Worldwide): We have begun rolling out and expect to complete by mid-November 2026.

Impact on your organization

Now with the full value of Office in Copilot, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is brought in directly into the Copilot experience, allowing users to create, review, edit, and collaborate on Office files without leaving their flow of work. This reduces context switching and makes it easier to move from an idea or conversation to a finished, shareable Office artifact.

Action Required/Recommendations

No admin action is required. Admins may want to inform users about the new experience and review their existing Microsoft 365 Copilot configuration and policies.
